Dr. Mark Bech
DPT
Physical Therapy
You could say Dr. Mark took the road less traveled when he began his journey and chose a career in physical therapy. Mark discovered his passion for helping people find relief from pain when he, himself, experienced a back injury while playing baseball in his 20’s. After recovering from his back injury, Mark was determined to learn more about the profession that helped him so much. He chose to leave a job driving dump trucks in Lake Charles, LA to take advantage of an opportunity to become a PT Technician for the same PT who helped him rehabilitate from his injury.
Mark’s supervisor and mentor encouraged him to continue his dream and enroll in PTA school at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA knowing Mark’s passion for making a difference in pain-free movement and mobility to improve quality of life. After 5 years of utilizing his PTA license in both outpatient and home health settings, Mark received his Bachelor’s Degree from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA on his journey to becoming a Physical Therapist.
Mark attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, FL specializing in manual therapy techniques and he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008. Mark met his wife, Angie, also a graduate of the University of St. Augustine, and they married in 2009. Mark and Angie are now settled in Ozark, MO with 2 children where they have been an integral part of the home health community. Mark discovered the importance of individualized care and how one-on-one treatments were vital to patient progress and outcomes.
Though it wasn’t the easiest route to take, Mark has seen his dream to become a PT come full circle and is now proud owner of One On One Physical Therapy on the historical Ozark Square. Mark, not only a manual therapist, is also certified in Softwave Tissue Regeneration Technology. Mark brings his southern charm to the Heart of the Ozarks and is looking forward to working one-on-one with you to get you back to moving without pain.
Shockwave and Arthritis: How it all works and what to expect.
Shockwave Therapy for Arthritis:
A Non-Invasive Option at One on One Physical TherapyAt One on One Physical Therapy, we see many patients struggling with arthritis, a condition that can limit mobility and make everyday activities challenging due to joint pain and stiffness. While conventional treatments often offer temporary relief, our focus is on helping patients find long-term solutions that support healing. That’s why we offer Shockwave Therapy—a non-invasive treatment option that helps reduce arthritis pain by activating the body’s own healing processes.
Understanding Shockwave Therapy:
Shockwave Therapy is an innovative, non-surgical treatment that uses acoustic sound waves to target pain directly at its source. Unlike traditional methods that primarily mask pain, Shockwave Therapy promotes healing by increasing blood flow, stimulating cellular repair, and reducing inflammation. This makes it an excellent choice for arthritis sufferers looking for a drug-free, sustainable way to manage their pain.
How Shockwave Therapy Eases Arthritis Symptoms:
Arthritis pain is often caused by chronic inflammation and reduced circulation in the joints, leading to cartilage deterioration and stiffness. Shockwave Therapy addresses these issues effectively by: Boosting Blood Flow: Shockwave Therapy enhances blood circulation to the joints, delivering essential nutrients and oxygen to damaged tissue and accelerating the healing process. Encouraging Tissue Repair: The acoustic waves stimulate the body’s natural repair mechanisms, helping to restore damaged joint tissue. Reducing Inflammation: Inflammation is a primary source of arthritis pain. Shockwave Therapy’s anti-inflammatory effects help reduce swelling and ease discomfort. Non-Invasive and Drug-Free: This therapy is ideal for patients seeking pain relief without injections, surgeries, or long-term medication.
Benefits of Shockwave Therapy for Arthritis:
Patients At One on One Physical Therapy, many of our arthritis patients have experienced meaningful results with Shockwave Therapy. Key benefits include:Rapid Pain Relief: Many patients report reduced pain after only a few sessions. Improved Mobility: Reduced stiffness and swelling allow for greater range of motion. Enhanced Quality of Life: With less pain and increased mobility, patients can enjoy daily activities with greater ease.
We’re dedicated to providing therapies that offer genuine, lasting relief. Shockwave Therapy has become an essential tool in our approach to treating arthritis, enabling patients to live more active, comfortable lives.
What to Expect During a Shockwave Therapy Session:
Our Shockwave Therapy sessions are designed to be straightforward and comfortable. A gel is applied to the treatment area, and a specialized device is used to deliver targeted sound waves into the affected joint. Each session lasts about 10-15 minutes, with no downtime—patients can resume their regular activities immediately.
The procedure is typically well-tolerated, with only mild discomfort that quickly subsides. While results vary, many patients notice improvements after just a few treatments, with lasting effects that extend for several months.
